CSC: Workforce Development Workforce DevelopmentWorkforce Investment Act (WIA) Services
Community Services Consortium is dedicated to providing job training and business services throughout Linn, Benton, and Lincoln County. Over 1300 businesses and residents have benefited annually from services offered by CSC. The Linn, Benton, Lincoln Workforce Investment Board (WIB) is a public-private, business-led organization dedicated to providing and maintaining a high quality workforce in the region. The WIB’s membership includes representatives of private business, state agencies, local government, community organizations and organized labor. The WIB oversees the WorkSource Centers and contracts with Community Services Consortium to provide services to adult job seekers, dislocated workers and youth aged 14-24. The WIB’s Youth Council addresses the needs and gaps in services of the 14-24 youth target population. Additional information about the WIB can be found at: http://www.region4wib.org. For PY 02_03, Community Services Consortium oversaw a 3 million dollar budget. Funding sources include the State of Oregon and the U.S. Department of Labor. We partner with a number of local organizations to provide services including: Adult and Family Services, Employment Department, Food Share, Goodwill Industries, Linn-Benton Community College and the Oregon Coast Community College, County Mental Health, Educational Service District, local School Districts, St. Vincent DePaul, and Vocational Rehabilitation Department. A job is much more than simply a paycheck. A great part of our self-esteem, respect among friends, family and neighbors, and our overall impact on the community and the world around us is derived from the work we perform. CSC understands the importance of employment from both a financial and personal perspective. Our goal is to enhance the opportunities available to both job seekers and employers by creating a contributing, successful workforce and a vibrant economy, resulting in a healthier community for all residents of Linn, Benton, and Lincoln counties. We accomplish our goal by focusing on our primary objective, to provide outstanding programs for the participants and employers we so proudly serve. In our role as a community leader and partner, we work closely with local nonprofit and government agencies to most effectively deliver services to area residents. These partnerships provide the opportunity to join together to best serve the needs of job seekers and employers throughout the Willamette Valley and Central Coast.
