Position Description

PROJECT INSTRUCTOR 1 - Youth House Garden

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Assists with training and guidance for participants in specific project areas.  

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:  Works under the direct supervision of an Operations Manager.    

SUPERVISION EXERCISED: Supervision of other employees is not a responsibility of this classification.

TYPICAL EXAMPLES OF WORK:  An employee in this classification may perform any of the following duties.  However, these examples do not include all the specific tasks that an employee may be expected to perform. 

 

  1. Interviews, recommends selection, and directs the activities of project participants. Provides training and technical assistance in the project area.

 

  1. Assists participants in identifying and developing transferable and marketable skills.

 

  1. Assists with participant incentive-pay time sheets.  May prepare purchase orders.

 

  1. May be responsible for workflow, record-keeping, tools, and vehicle maintenance, depending upon project.

 

  1. Such other duties as are from time to time assigned.

 

  1. Regular attendance is a requirement of this position.  A professional and courteous manner, and an ability to work harmoniously with other employees and the general public are also required.

 

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY

Must possess knowledge in the project area.  Must have ability to provide training, and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.  Must possess a valid Oregon driver's license with a good driving record.   Some, but not all, positions may require a Red Cross first aid card and chauffeur's license.

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING:  Completion of High School or equivalent, supplemented by one year of additional training or education in the field-related project; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
