Leave a Legacy

Leave
A Legacy is a community-wide program to promote
interest in charitable giving through a will or for an estate. Leave A Legacy
works hand-in-hand with CSC and other nonprofit groups (including social service
and art organizations, churches, hospitals, educational institutions and other
philanthropic groups) to encourage this activity.
Charitable, nonprofit groups play an important role in our
lives. These special organizations that are important to you, rely on your
continued financial assistance in order to continue their good deeds.
By leaving a legacy through a gift in your Will, you can
continue to help organizations that are making an important difference in our
community.
Frequently Asked Questions
Must I have an estate
to leave a gift?
An estate is simply a word used to
describe any property money, money or personal belongings that you may have at
the time of your death. Anyone can arrange to leave a charitable gift for their
estate when they pass away.
How do I leave a gift for an
organization that I admire?
You can arrange for a gift in several
ways, the most common being through a Will. Many people set aside a certain
dollar amount. Others leave a percentage of their estate, or any assets left
over after their family has been provided for. Some people will give a charity
something they won like a car or their home. Others leave a paid-up life
insurance policy or other financial investment.
Who can help me arrange for a
gift?
Please feel free to contact Debbie
Jackson (CSC Finance Manager) if you have any questions or how you can leave a legacy with the
Community Services Consortium.
While Leave A Legacy concentrates
on gifts through your Will or estate, you can also help the non-profits you care
