CSC: Housing Programs: Home Based Living Skills

Home Based Living Skills

CSC contracts Intensive Home Based Living Skills (HBLS) with SCF. This program is designed to provide families training in developing skills necessary for maintaining a home for their children. The uniqueness of the HBLS is that families are able to receive services several times a week on an on-going basis. Areas that are addressed within a family may include but are not limited to maintaining a clean home, developing a routine with in the home, identification and remediation of barriers that the family faces that will allow them to retain or regain custody of their children. This program affects a wide range of youth from infancy to young parents up to age 30. In the first 10 months the program has served 34 children from birth to age 17. HBLS is building a network of community support agencies which include Furniture Share, local pregnancy centers, food banks and public health services
