A word from a current Friend,

It is a question friends often ask me.  I have no children in the program, I do not work for Head Start, so why?  I am a “Friend” because not all children have the opportunity to succeed and not every parent knows how to advocate for their child's education.

Head Start prepares every child who enrolls for school and empowers their parents to make sure they get the best education possible.  That is why I am a "Friend."

The first annual Dinner Down the Bay  was a success, and delicious!  Friends of Head Start raised over $600, some of which was used to repair the CD player and install new speakers in the Newport school bus.

Thank you to all who provided dinner courses, wine, gifts, music or a helping hand!  We hope all who dined with us had a wonderful time, met new friends, and left with a full stomach!

Look for the Dinner in 2010!
