The plan will identify the problem, identify specific solutions and goals, and establish timelines and resources for meeting those goals.
Vision Statement: All people in Lincoln County have the opportunity to live in a decent, safe and sanitary home that allows for their physical, emotional and economic well-being.”
4. Community Forums v Lincoln City: Second panel discussion about housing needs facilitated by Mayor Lori Hollingsworth tentatively scheduled for Dec.06/Jan.07 v Community Issues Forum of South County will host a community event in Jan. 2007 in Waldport. Bill Hall and Hannah Rosenau will coordinated with this group about topics/speakers/publicity etc.
5. Other Comments Language: Remember we are talking about people and their lives so let’s use appropriate and respectful language which reflects that. Suggestions are to say “people who are experiencing homelessness” and “people facing housing issues” rather that “the homeless”. There was interest in finding a current inventory of rentals and housing units in Lincoln County. Land use maps or realtors might hold this information. A need for a “community map” which displays how issues and areas interact was shared (i.e. how agencies, business sector, individuals, banks, etc. are involved in housing).
